Hangjiahu Lake’s South Paiping Lake Pond Extending and Dredging Dushan Waterlogging Drainage Project is one of the planning projects to improve the drainage capacity of Hangzhou Bay to the south and recommended in the "Several Opinions on Strengthening Flood Control Construction in the Taihu Basin from 2001 to 2010" approved by the State Council. It is the recent construction project of the "Hangjiahu Area Flood Control Plan" approved by the provincial government and has been included in the "Taihu Lake Basin Flood Control Plan" approved by the Ministry of Water Resources. The construction of the project will play an important role in flood control in the river basin, flood control in Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou area, and flood control in cities such as Jiaxing and Pinghu; at the same time, it can also improve the comprehensive benefits of shipping conditions and river network water environment.
The Hangjiahu South Paiping Lake Pond Extending and Dredging Dushan Waterlogging Drainage Emergency Project is the first implementation project of the Hangjiahu Nanpai Dushan Waterlogging Drainage Project. The project is grade I. It is located in Huanggu Town, Pinghu, Jiaxing. It consists of Dushan Drainage Gate and Dushan Ganhe (Guocun to Dushan section), Yangqiao Navigation Control Gate, Huanggutang Navigation Control Gate and other control gates. According to the approval of the preliminary design report of the project, the Dushan Drainage Sluice is designed according to the 100-year once-in-time standard, and 200-year-in-time check. The net width is 40m (5 holes×8m), the floor elevation of the gate is -2.8m, and the total displacement is 298 million cubic meters. ; The newly opened emergency section of the Dushan Dry River is 2.9km long, 89.4m wide, 48m bottom width, river bottom elevation -3.80m, embankment top elevation 3.20m, and embankment top width 5m. The total construction period is 36 months and the total investment is 386 million yuan.

It will protect 3.3 million people and protect 3.1 million mu of cultivated land. The indirect protection area is the eastern plain of Hangjiahu Lake, with a total area of ​​7446 square kilometers, benefiting an area of ​​860 square kilometers.
